Bring the Jony method into your assistant.
Jony works with any assistant that accepts a remote MCP server: Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Devin, Hermes and others. Add one address, sign in once with your Jony account, and you are done.
This is an MCP address, the standard way AI tools plug into an outside service. You paste it once in your tool.
Your computer
Never reaches Jony
- Data room documents
- Figures, analyses and notes
- The name of the target
Nothing else can be sent. The tool refuses free text.
Jony
Sent to you, on demand
- Signed method pages, one at a time
- A licence notice in your name on each page
Pick your assistant.
Each guide takes about two minutes. You need a Jony account: your administrator sends the invitation.
Claude
Works in Claude on the web, in the desktop app and in Claude Code. Custom connectors work on every plan; the Free plan allows one.
-
Open Customize, then Connectors
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds Jony once in Organization settings, then Connectors. Everyone else skips to step 3.
-
Add a custom connector
Click Add custom connector. Name it Jony, paste the address and click Continue. Keep the sign-in settings Claude detects, then click Add.
https://agent.jonyapp.com/mcp -
Connect and authorise
Click Connect next to Jony, if Claude has not already opened the Jony page. Sign in with your Jony account, check that the request comes from Claude, then click Authorise.
-
Turn it on in a conversation
In a chat, click the + button, then Connectors, and switch Jony on.
It works when
You ask Show me the contents of the Jony method
and Claude answers with the chapters, each page carrying a licence notice in your name.
If it does not work
- No Add custom connector button: your organisation has turned custom connectors off, or your Free plan already uses its one custom connector. Ask your Claude owner.
- The Jony page says your access is not active yet: your administrator still needs to activate your account in the Jony portal.
- Claude asks you to connect again after some weeks: an authorisation lasts up to 30 days. Click Connect again.
These steps follow the official Claude Code guide. We have not run them end to end ourselves yet.
-
Add Jony
In a terminal, run this once. The user scope makes Jony available in all your projects.
Terminalclaude mcp add --transport http --scope user jony https://agent.jonyapp.com/mcp -
Sign in
Start Claude Code and type
/mcp. Choose jony and follow the sign-in. Your browser opens the Jony page: sign in and click Authorise. -
Check the connection
Terminalclaude mcp listJony shows as connected.
It works when
You ask Show me the contents of the Jony method
and Claude Code calls the Jony tool and lists the chapters.
If it does not work
- No browser on this machine: run
claude mcp login jony --no-browser. Open the link it prints on another device and sign in, then paste back the full address shown in that browser's address bar, even if the page shows an error. - To start again:
claude mcp remove jony --scope user, then step 1.
Codex
The ChatGPT desktop app, the Codex command line and the VS Code extension share one setup: connect once, and Jony appears in all three.
These steps follow the official Codex guide. We have not run them end to end ourselves yet.
-
Add Jony
Terminalcodex mcp add jony --url https://agent.jonyapp.com/mcp -
Sign in
Terminalcodex mcp login jonyYour browser opens the Jony page. Sign in, check that the request comes from Codex, then click Authorise.
-
Check the connection
Terminalcodex mcp listJony shows in the list. Start a new Codex session to use it.
It works when
You ask Show me the contents of the Jony method
and Codex calls the Jony tool and lists the chapters.
If it does not work
- The setup lives in
~/.codex/config.toml, under[mcp_servers.jony]. Check that the address is exactly the one above. - If sign-in fails, create a key in the Jony portal (Applications, then Other application), and use the Other tools guide.
These steps follow the official Codex guide. We have not run them end to end ourselves yet.
-
Open Settings, then MCP servers
Click Add server.
-
Describe the server
Name: jony. Type: Streamable HTTP. Address: paste it below. Save, then click Restart.
https://agent.jonyapp.com/mcp -
In the list of servers, click Authenticate next to jony. Sign in on the Jony page and click Authorise.
It works when
You ask Show me the contents of the Jony method
and Codex lists the chapters.
GitHub Copilot
Works in Copilot Chat inside VS Code and in the Copilot command line. On a Copilot Business or Enterprise plan, your organisation must allow MCP servers.
These steps follow the official VS Code guide. We have not run them end to end ourselves yet.
-
Run MCP: Add Server
Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac, Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows) and run MCP: Add Server. Choose HTTP.
-
Paste the address
Paste the address and name the server jony. Save it in Copilot Global, so it works in every folder.
https://agent.jonyapp.com/mcp -
VS Code asks to sign in to jony. Allow it, then sign in on the Jony page and click Authorise.
-
Turn it on in chat
Open Copilot Chat, click Configure Tools in the chat box, and check that jony is ticked.
It works when
You ask Show me the contents of the Jony method
and Copilot asks to run the Jony tool, then lists the chapters.
If it does not work
- MCP: Add Server is missing or the server does not start: your organisation may block MCP servers in its Copilot policy. Ask your GitHub administrator.
- To see what happened, run MCP: List Servers, choose jony, then Show Output.
These steps follow the official GitHub Copilot CLI guide. We have not run them end to end ourselves yet.
-
Create a key in the Jony portal
Open the Jony portal, go to Applications, then Other application. Name it Copilot CLI, choose a duration, and copy the key. It is shown once.
-
Add Jony
In Copilot CLI, type
/mcp add. Name: jony. Type: HTTP. URL: the address. Headers: the line below, with your key. Tools:*. Save with Ctrl+S.HTTP headers{"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_JONY_KEY"} -
Check the connection
Type
/mcp showto see jony and its state. From a terminal, copilot mcp listshows the same.
It works when
You ask Show me the contents of the Jony method
and Copilot lists the chapters.
If it does not work
- The key expires after the duration you chose. Create a new one in the portal and replace it in
~/.copilot/mcp-config.json.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
An administrator adds Jony once to a Copilot Studio agent. The team then uses that agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams. This guide is for your IT team.
This guide is on its way
Microsoft documents that Microsoft 365 Copilot needs the server to give it a client secret when it registers. Jony signs assistants in without one today. We add this next, then publish this guide.
If your firm needs it now, write to hello@jonyapp.com.
Any MCP-compatible tool
Cursor, Devin, Hermes and any AI tool that accepts a remote MCP server can use Jony with these settings. In VS Code, follow the GitHub Copilot guide.
- Addresshttps://agent.jonyapp.com/mcp
- TransportHTTP (Streamable HTTP)
- Sign-inOAuth, with automatic client registration. The tool opens the Jony page, you authorise it.
- Or a keyFor tools without sign-in, create a key in the portal (Applications, then Other application) and send
Authorization: Bearerfollowed by the key.
Example: Devin. Open Customize, then MCPs, and add a custom server with the address above, transport HTTP and authentication OAuth. Then click Connect and sign in to Jony.
Example: Hermes. Add the server from its MCP settings with these two lines, then follow the sign-in.
If Hermes asks you to sign in again
- Run
hermes mcp login jonyin a terminal. The chat window cannot reopen the browser on its own.
Example: Cursor. For now, Cursor connects with a key: Jony does not yet accept the way Cursor signs in on its own. Create a key in the Jony portal (Applications, then Other application), then add Jony to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with your key.
These steps follow the official Cursor guide. We have not run them end to end ourselves yet.
Every connection, in one place.
Each assistant you connect appears in the Jony portal with the date it last read the method. You can cut it in one click.
See it
The portal lists every connected application, its type, its last access and when it expires.
Cut it
Revoking a connection stops it at the next call. Suspending a person cuts all of their connections at once.
It expires on its own
A sign-in lasts up to 30 days and renews its one-hour access in the background. A key lasts 7, 30 or 90 days, as you choose.
What the server can and cannot do.
- ToolsOne read-only tool,
jony_catalogue. It accepts a method release, a chapter and a page number, and nothing else. Free text cannot be sent through it. - DataJony never receives engagement documents, figures or the name of the target.
- HostingFrankfurt, Germany.
- Sign-inOAuth with PKCE (S256), dynamic client registration, return to an HTTPS address or to the user's own machine. The consent page shows where the request returns.
- SecretsJony stores fingerprints of keys and tokens, never the values.
- LogsWho, what and when, kept 90 days. Never the content of a page or a key.
Common questions.
Do I need the Jony app as well?
No. Your assistant can read the method on its own. The app adds the engagement screens, the databook and the report.
Can I connect several assistants?
Yes. Each one gets its own connection in the portal, so you can cut one without touching the others.
My assistant stopped reading the method. What now?
The connection has expired or was revoked. Sign in again: Connect in Claude, /mcp in Claude Code, codex mcp login jony in Codex, hermes mcp login jony in Hermes. If it still fails, check in the portal that your account is active.
Why does the address not work in my browser?
The address is made for AI tools. People sign in at agent.jonyapp.com instead.
